Obituary

  • Life & Legacy

  • On December 29, 1934, a precious gift from God entered the world. Lillie Mae Anderson Williams was born in Sweden, Arkansas, to Annie Mae Black* and Julius Anderson*. Raised by a village and blessed with a bonus mother, Beatrice Anderson*, Lillie Mae grew up surrounded by family, love, guidance, and strength. Among her multitude of siblings, she learned the importance of togetherness, perseverance, and caring for one another—values she carried throughout her life and passed down through generations.

  • Lillie Mae was blessed with one of life's greatest gifts—motherhood. She became the loving mother of ten beautiful children, pouring into her family her love, wisdom, faith, strength, and determination. Her journey was also blessed by Mr. Andrew Lee Williams*, with whom she entered into union, building a family and creating memories together. At a young age, Lillie Mae accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. In 1972, she moved to Summit, Oklahoma, where she joined the House of Deliverance under the spiritual leadership of Mother Sennie Mae McKinney and Father A.C. McKinney. Her faith became the foundation of her life as she faithfully served the Lord and her community. Small Feet, Big Steps Lillie Mae may have had small feet, but she made some mighty big steps. From Muskogee and Bristow, Oklahoma, to Pine Bluff and Altheimer, Arkansas, she sprinkled love everywhere those little feet carried her. With her beautiful smile, grateful heart, and welcoming spirit, Lillie Mae never met a stranger. She treasured genuine friendship, including her dear friend and shopping buddy, Mrs. Florence Galloway of Bristow, Oklahoma, and her faithful prayer-war-mom buddy, Ms. Josephine Vaughn. Whether shopping, laughing, talking, or praying, Lillie Mae understood that true friendship was one of God's special blessings.

  • A Woman of God Who Lived Life on Purpose

  • Lillie Mae was a woman of God, full of joy, who lived life on purpose. She loved the Lord, loved her family, and knew how to enjoy the life God gave her. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, spending time with family, and watching In the Heat of the Night, Walker, Texas Ranger, and Rambo. Her preference was Gospel music and the Word of God. She believed in prayer and Scripture and knew where her strength came from. But Lillie Mae also operated in reality—and every now and then, she didn't mind a little B.B. King, “The Thrill Is Gone.” That was Lillie Mae: faithful enough to know the Word, joyful enough to enjoy life, and genuine enough to always be herself. She didn't just exist—she lived. She didn't just speak about faith—she walked in it. She didn't just love her family—she poured herself into them. And wherever her small feet carried her, she left big footprints of love behind. Her Own Special LanguageIf you knew Lillie Mae, you knew she had a language all her own. She might tell you, “I will bald you out,” or warn you, “Don't you be progue.” Her family and friends understood her perfectly.

  • But when Lillie Mae really meant business, there was another level. That's when you might hear: “I told that sowing sowing!”And once she said that, you knew she had said what she meant and meant what she said. Lillie Mae could create a word, give it meaning, say it with complete confidence, and somehow everybody knew exactly what she meant. She spoke with authority but loved with an even greater authority. She was a woman with a sharp tongue who operated in grace. If she corrected you, it was because she cared; if she fussed, there was probably a lesson somewhere in the fussing. And when she finished saying what needed to be said, the love was still there. She was authentically and unapologetically Lillie Mae. She could pray with you, laugh with you, cook for you, fish with you, shop with you, correct you, encourage you, and love you—all while remaining completely herself.A woman like Lillie Mae doesn't simply leave memories behind. She leaves a language, a laugh, a lesson, a testimony, a legacy, and a love that continues speaking long after she has gone.
