Linda
Davenport
January 23, 1957 – December 20, 2023
Reflections of Linda's Life
It was on January 23, 1957 when a beautiful baby girl was welcomed into this world. She was named Linda Yvette.
Linda spent her early childhood years born and raised in Louisiana. She attended Pinecrest School-Winnfield, Louisiana until moving to Okmulgee, Oklahoma where she enrolled in the 6th. grade at Attucks Elementary School. After graduating from Okmulgee High school, she attended OSU-Tech-Okmulgee, Langston University-Langston, Oklahoma, and furthered her education on to Southern University-Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Among the many courses and degrees she accomplished, she had a special knack for Architectural Design. She wasn't afraid to try or challenge things and worked diligently until the result of health problems.
Linda had a big heart, was kind and generous and would give you whatever she had. She loved her children and family and had special ways of doing things for special people. Humor and acting silly was one of her best traits to always put a smile on your face. She loved to travel and did so by traveling from east coast to west coast and from south coast to north coast and made sure her two children Darrell & Wendy got the same experience. There were times when she enjoyed being to herself watching old-old television shows. She grew up in church and no matter where she lived, she attended church. The Lord blessed Linda with a nice singing voice, singing in various choirs, groups, bands, etc. She stayed busy as she also had a loved for Writing and even wrote songs and received awards for her Writings of poetry.
On the night of December 20, 2023, at a Tulsa Hospital with family by her side, Linda left this earthly realm and transitioned to eternity. There she was greeted by her grandparents - Jay and Sallie Davenport, among a host of other relatives and friends.
Her loving memories will always be cherished by her children Darrell and Wendy; her mother-Versie Huffman; sisters—Yvonne (Cookie) Brown, Ladana Huffman, Shondra Humphrey; brother—Willie Huffman Jr., Grandchildren: DeSean Glover, Faith & Promise Davenport; Special Aunts and Uncle—Dorothy Long (Indiana), Lillie Holmes (Nebraska), Lonnie Davenport (Louisiana); along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
