Obituary

Lucille Jones, 88, homemaker, a resident of Muskogee, OK; passed away, Friday, September 27, 2013 in Eastar Health System.

December 16, 1924 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas; a beautiful baby girl was born to Andrew Anderson and Opal Barnes. They named her, Lucille.

Lucille spent her youth in Arkansas. As a teenager she moved to Oklahoma. She received Christ as her Savior and Lord at an early age. Lucille spent many years working as a provider for DHS. It was her life's calling to help people. She never met a stranger.

August 30, 1965 Lucille married David Jones. Lucille was an active member of Christ Holy Mission Church until her health began to fail.

Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and sisters, and her husband, David.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a son, John Jones Sr. (Paula), daughter, Patricia Boykins (Harmon), step-sister Aquilla Hawthorne, Oakland, CA; 4 grandchildren, Rachel Washington, John Jones Jr., Noah Jones, and Ashley Boykins, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 cousins that she raised as her own children, Rose Holliday and Bud Hardin, a niece Natasha Wallace (Steffan), San Antonio, TX; special friends Bea Conway, Anitra Brown (Uriel), Emma Taylor and Leslie Craig and numerous other relatives and friends.

A Home Going Service will be conducted Thursday, October 3, 2013, 11:00 a.m., Chist Holy Mission Church, 1416 Wewoka Street, Muskogee, OK; with Pastor Audrey Chatman, eulogizing. Interment will follow in Oktaha Community Cemetery, Oktaha, OK.

Visistation will be Wednesday from 1 to 6 p.m.

The family has been cared for by the Winn family at Granger-House of Winn Funeral Home.
