Obituary

On January 27th, 1917 in Wilton, Arkansas, Janie Byers and Rufus Lyons became the proud parents of a little baby girl.  They named her, Lucy Bell.  Lucy was one of two children.

Lucy came to Muskogee, OK; in 1945.  She worshiped at 18th & Denison Church of Christ until she moved to Tulsa, OK; in 1999.

Lucy was very domestic, not only in her own home but everywhere she felt the need. Her favorite pastimes included watching baseball games on television, reading the Bible, attending church and taking in an occasional professional wrestling match!

She went home to be with the Lord, Friday, March 3, 2017.

Preceding her in death were her parents, sister, Mattie Ellen, daughter, Lucy Logan and husbands, Bay Dedner, Ulysses Cook and Albert Vann.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Augustine Johnson, Tulsa, OK; Ruby Nesby, Inglewood, CA; Carlene Bowles of California, her son, Rufus Charles (Linda) Cook, Inglewood, CA; her grandchildren, Loretta Howard, Wanda Randle, Earl (Kim) Johnson, April Bowles, Barry Bowles, and Rosalind Bowles, 10 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren and 8 great-great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her.

A Home Going Service is scheduled Saturday, March 11, 2017, 11:00 a.m., 18th & Denison Church of Christ, 404 N. 18th Street, Muskogee, OK; with Bro. Eric Rodgers, eulogizing.  Interment will follow in Booker T. Washington Cemetery, Muskogee, OK.

Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

The family has been cared for by House of Winn Funeral Home & Cremations.
