Lynn Carol
Johnson
August 27, 1949 – December 23, 2021
I was born Lynn Carol Oates on Saturday, August 27, 1949 to Jack Donald Oates my father and Ruby Lee (Oliver) Oates my mother. I was the youngest of their two children.
I grew up in Tulsa Oklahoma. I attended John Burroughs elementary, Roosevelt Jr High in Tulsa public schools and I'm a proud member of the Central High class of 1967. After high school, I married Michael Carl Blalock and during this union I gave birth to three girls Lushuna, Michell, and Katrina. This union didn't last and during my time as a single parent, I later gave birth to my son Jaime who I later renamed Jeffrey.
I was very artistic and creative. I enjoyed perfecting hair braiding and dressing my children. I enjoyed working with my mother Ruby in the family boutique stores on Cincinnati across from Burroughs and Suburban Acres Shopping Center (now the Gibb Center) and could often be found creating ceramic wall and art work, creating jewelry to sell in our stores and at craft fairs and art markets. I loved astrology and enjoyed star gazing and Greek Mythology. I later attended college where I excelled in computer programming, accounting, and data processing. After graduation from Oklahoma Junior College for Business and Technology in 1984, I began my career with the Oklahoma State Department of Human Services division in Tulsa in the data processing unit. It was during this time, I rededicated my life to Christ. I loved gardening and had a fondness for growing house plants specifically ivy's and landscaping. After my career ended with the Department of Human Services, I devoted my time to my family raising grandchildren and eventually great grandchildren. I loved having huge gatherings for the holidays where I cooked and could see everyone. I also enjoyed playing Candy Crush and watching Soap Operas. My favorites where The Young and Restless and The Bold and The Beautiful.
I did these things until my health started to decline. Thursday December 23, 2021, I passed on from this life to be with our Lord and Savior. There to meet me are my parents and my brother Emmett.
Left here to remember me are my children, daughters Lushuna (Reggie) Humphrey of Tulsa, OK, Michelle Chaudry of Tulsa, OK, Katrina Blalock of OKC, OK and son Jeffery Blalock of Tulsa, OK. Also here to remember me are my 4 nephews, my Oliver cousins and their spouses, 11 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, relatives and friends. I'll end this letter with this message ………To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Love You All and Be Blessed ❤️
