Makia Renee
Anderson
September 17, 1987 – November 24, 2021
Makia Renee Anderson was born on September 17, 1987 in Tulsa, OK to Mervel Elaine Brooks and Tarance "Terry" L. Anderson. A bundle of sunshine, she was one of two children born to the two. Makia had accepted Christ into her life at a young age, being a faithful member of Flipper Chapel AME Church in Sapulpa, OK as well as a member of Saint Matthews Church in Okmulgee, OK.
Makia attended Beggs Public Schools from elementary to high school, in which she was a member of the Beggs High School Cheerleading squad. She then pursued her college degree in Childhood Education, following in the footsteps of the woman she admired most, her mother.
Makia was a true support system to all of her family members and friends. You could definitely count on Makia, who always extended the hand to be there when needed. Makia was always down to have a good time. The life of the party, she could be found drinking wine, shopping, laughing, and making jokes. If there was anyone who could convince you to leave the house for some fun, it was Makia. She never let anything or anyone bring her down for long. A true fashionista, she made sure everyone lived their lives to the fullest in her presence.
Makia was not only a wonderful daughter, but was a good mother to her daughter Jhaniyah Tate, who may have ran her pockets dry, but nonetheless she loved dearly. She was a mother figure to her sister, Jaslin Brooks as well and was the support system her sister needed. Through hard times she remained faithful and fearless. Makia was the definition of a strong woman and admirable woman and did exactly what God put her on this Earth to do in such a short amount of time. A wonderful daughter, mother, sister, niece, and friend above all else she will be truly be missed for just being her.
Makia was given her angel wings and granted her passage into heaven on November 25, 2021. Makia leaves behind to cherish her memories her daughter, Jhaniyah Tate; her father, Terry Anderson; siblings, Brandin Anderson, Jaslin Brooks, and Terrisha Anderson; maternal grandmother, Charlie Mae Lewis; paternal grandparents, Shelia Anderson and John Anderson; her aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other family and friends.
