Marvin Keith Robertson Sr., was born July 27, 1961, to Rayfield and Pearlean Robertson, in Wichita, KS, He grew up in Wichita, KS, until his family moved to Checotah, OK. He attended Checotah Junior and High Schools. He entered the Army on August 14, 1979, where he received the Army Achievement Medal and completed his GED. Marvin was honorably discharged on August, 14, 1982.
Marvin married Trina Dixon in 1990, and was later divorced. Together, they had a son, Marvin Keith Robertson, Jr. "Keith" passed away on February 14, 2021.
At the age of 12, Marvin was baptized by Rev. Brookins, Strangers Rest Baptist Church, Wichita, KS, and practiced a strong faith in Jesus Christ until his death. Because of his worsening medical conditions, Marvin suspected that his end was near and re-assured us that "he was ready", and certain of his Salvation. He looked forward to re-uniting with his mother and grandmother who were sources of comfort to him, even after their deaths. He recently spoke of their unconditional love and spiritual support during the recent passing of his son, Keith. Marvin was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Kansas City, MO., Rev. Floyd Sullivan, Pastor.
Marvin was employed as a carpenter, renovating homes for most of his work life. At the time of his death, he worked for AARP.
Preceding him in death is his mother, Pearlean; son, Marvin Keith; brother, Michael; four grandparents: notably Daddy Roy; and Leola Fulsom.
Marvin is survived by his father, Rayfield Robertson; four grandchildren; Adarious, Malaysia, Amirce, and Tyshawn; two brothers: Stanley Robertson and Brian Robertson (Tempie); three sisters: Rayellen Thompson, JoHelen Williams, and Jocelyn Kenner (Carlos), an aunt, Cora Mosley (James), friend, Stephanie Greer, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, and friends.
Service of Memory will be conducted, Friday, March 26, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the Precious Memories Chapel of House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee, Rev. Marcus Burkhalter eulogizing. Interment will follow in Ft Gibson National cemetery, with military honors provided by American Legion Post 20. No Public Visitation, viewing only at service on Friday.
