Obituary

Mary Jo Williams, 60, homemaker, a resident of Okmulgee, OK; passed away, Wednesday, May 15, 2013, in her home, surrounded by family.

On May 2, 1953, in Okmulgee, OK; Vernon Odell and Rosie Lee Ware were blessed with their sixth child. A special, one of kind, daughter, that later in life would be one of many words and actions. They named her, Mary Jo Ware.

She professed her love for Christ at an early age. She had a kind spirit. James W. Williams witnessed her love and soon they were married.

Mary Jo Ware Williams, better known as "Chubby", never met a stranger. She was liked and loved by everyone she came in contact with.

Mary lived a fulfilled life as a housewife, mother and grandmother. Those duties led her to work in the nursing field as a HHA, CNA and CMA. She was also employed as a Department of Corrections officer, private sitter, a cook at nursing homes and at the county jail.

Mary's good days came to a close, May 15, 2013. In her passing, she wouldn't want sadness. She would want happiness, smiles and laughs because she's in a good place and she's happy.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Vernon Odell Ware and Rosie L. Ware, mother-in-law, Carrie Williams, brother, Curtis Bear Ware, and brother-in-law, Henry Williams.

She leaves to be happy, her husband, James W. Williams, of the home, her children, LaPreachtra A. Ware, Theodis Shavon Ware, Carrie Marie Williams, and Tina Faye Williams, all of Okmulgee, OK; five grandchildren, Scott Eric Franklin, Deonte` Eugene Franklin, Shanta` Danyel Franklin, Angela Marie Ware, and Gentrun James Williams, four great-grandchildren, Zariah Que`re Nicole Franklin, Jadriana Elaine Franklin, and Donyel Corneilous Eugene Franklin, five brothers, Theodis (Wyntress) Ware, Bill (Lynn) Ware, Vernon (Beth) Ware, Charles (Deanne) Ware, and Phillip (Janice) Ware, four sisters, Betty Barker, Vernetta Ware, Carolyn Ware, and Arnette Penn, along with nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends that will miss her.

A Home Going Celebration will be conducted Saturday, May 25, 2013, 11:00 a.m., First Baptist Church, 311 W. 5th Street, Okmulgee, OK; with Rev. Charles Jones, eulogizing. Interment will be Tuesday, May 28, 2013, 10:00 a.m., Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, 1423 Cemetery Road, Ft. Gibson, OK.

Visitation, Friday 1-6 p.m.

The family has been cared for by the Winn family at House of Winn Funeral Home.
