MY LIFE STORY

On May 22 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri, I entered the loving world of my parents, Joe Lee Harper and Mildred C. Posley Harper.  I was blessed with five siblings.

MY FOUNDATION

I received my formal education through Oklahoma City Public Schools, graduating from Douglas High School in1970. While in high school I learned to Express myself through the joy of singing so I  Joined the choir.  On December 14 1970, responding to the call to serve my country I enlisted in the United States Navy.  While in the Navy I was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

THE APPLICATION

I used the training principles gleaned from life with my parents, my education and life's experiences to excel in my career of service to those who passed my way. The vision of my life's journey can be captured in the words of a song, "If I can help somebody as I  travel along, then my Living shall not be in vain!" It was a joy to shine the light of love as I worked beside all of my co-workers at Chimi's Mexican Restaurant for 33 years.

MY LEGACY

I have reunited with my parents Joe Sr. and Mildred Harper and my sister , Carol, on the Heavenly shores.  Those left to remember the Good times and keep the umbrella of life Available are my siblings Joe Harper Jr., Ladonna McClendon, Debra Miles, and Beverly Harper-Horsley.

THE CELEBRATION

On May 14 2021, at 4:00 AM, the merciful and loving death angel made his way to St. Johns hospital and whispered the triumphant exit call in my ear…"The Father Is Waiting!"  Don't weep for me, simply celebrate knowing the mortal has put on immortality and I'm with the Father resting from my labor.

A Memorial Gathering will be Saturday, May 22,2021 at CHIMIS RESTAURANT, 1304 E. 15th St.  Tulsa, OK during the hours of 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.  A veteran of the United States Navy, Mr. Harper has been cremated.

The family has been cared for by, House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee.
