Obituary

On January 31, 1959, a baby boy named Michael (Mike) Ray McDaniel was born to Elmore Sr. and Christine McDaniel in Muskogee, OK. Michael was the 5th sibling of the Grayson/McDaniel/Watson bunch, younger brother to Norman Grayson, Elmer Jr, Larry, and Lee McDaniel. Then older brother to Sharon McDaniel and Otis Watson, Jr. Mike accepted Christ into his life at an early age, and became a member of St. Mark Baptist Church. Mike attended school at Carter G. Woodson High School in Tallahassee, OK and then Muskogee High School in Muskogee, OK.

Into his early twenties, Mike decided to join the United States Army. He was stationed in multiple bases nationwide and in Germany. Mike returned back home to Muskogee, OK and became a recruiter for the Army. After 15 years of dedicated service to his Country and reaching the rank of Army Sergeant, he received an honorable discharge upon his retirement.

After retiring from the Army, Mike was most known for enjoying his time barbecuing, cooking, and spending time with his friends at the casino. He had friends, like Eddie McCrary, who always looked out for him throughout life. He always enjoyed being in the company of his kids, grandkids, siblings and family.

On Sunday, January 26, 2025, Michael departed in life, returning home to his parents  and brothers Elmer Jr and Lee. Michael leaves his legacy to his daughter Michaela and grandsons Adrian and Andrew. Michael leaves his memories to be cherished by his siblings, Sharon Graham (Tracy), Otis Watson Jr (Heidi), Larry McDaniel, Norman Grayson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
