Mittie Elizabeth Fausett Mackey was born on January 2, 1934 to Parents Lafayette Price Fausett and Ora Ethel Gaither Fausett.
Mittie was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great-Great Grandmother. She worked at Claussens before moving to Brockway where she worked until her retirement. Mittie was active in sports when she was younger having played basketball and played softball on the Brockway softball team. She loved spending time with family especially around the holidays and was an avid old school game player (cards, Wahoo, dominoes). She loved cooking and made sure her children knew how to cook as well. She loved reading and genealogy.
Mittie was preceded in death by her husband George Amos Mackey, her parents Lafayette Price Fausett and Ora Ethel Gaither Fausett, brothers Sam Fausett, Bud Fausett, Amos Fausett and David Fausett, sister, Mary Alice Harron, grandson, Jimmie D. Godfrey Jr., granddaughter Elizabeth Mackey and great grandson Anthony Godfrey Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children George A. Mackey III (Patricia), of Tahlequah, Brenda K. Godfrey (Jimmie ) of Muskogee, Deborah L. Adair (Harold) of Stone Bluff, Diane L. Hammons (Bobbie Joe) of Muskogee, Mary E. Hickman (Michael) of Broken Arrow, Gary W. Mackey (Ruby) of Broken Arrow, Sandra L. Storts (Roy L.) of O'Fallon, MO and Jimmy Don Mackey of Muskogee and a brother, Vester Fausett of Muskogee, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Service of Memory will be conducted, Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Precious Memories Chapel/ House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee, with Rodney Mattox, eulogizing. Visitation, Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in chapel.
