Mother Naomi Lucille Lang was born on March 12, 1929, to Moses T. Fields, Sr. and Hattie Olivia Fields. She was one of thirteen children born into a family grounded in faith, prayer, and hard work. Her father was known as a minister and prayer warrior, while her mother was known for her love of gospel hymns and music. These influences helped shape the spiritual foundation that would guide Mother Lang throughout her life.

On October 5, 1947, she united in holy matrimony with Archie V. Lang, Sr. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, service, and perseverance. Their union was blessed with sixteen children, and together they established a legacy that continues through generations.

Mother Lang completed the eleventh grade and devoted much of her life to caring for her family and serving her community. She worked as a homemaker, farmer, and domestic worker, carrying out each responsibility with diligence, strength, and grace. She was gifted in cooking, gardening, sewing, quilting, and creating a warm and welcoming home for all who entered.

Her greatest passion was serving the Lord. Before founding her own ministry, she faithfully worshiped and served at Cane Creek Baptist Church and Community Baptist Church. In 1972, Mother Lang founded the Neighborhood House of Prayer in Boynton, Oklahoma, where she faithfully served as pastor for 54 years. Through her leadership, unwavering faith, and commitment to the Gospel, the ministry became a place of prayer, encouragement, spiritual growth, and hope for countless individuals and families. After 54 years of faithful service, she passed the mantle of leadership, leaving behind a thriving ministry and a legacy that will continue for generations to come.

Mother Lang faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, church mother, mentor, counselor, and prayer warrior. She was known for her hospitality, her willingness to offer godly advice, and her ability to encourage both young and seasoned believers. She was especially known for supporting and encouraging upcoming ministers, helping many recognize and pursue the call of God upon their lives.

She cherished her family and found great joy in raising her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her life was marked by love, sacrifice, wisdom, and a steadfast commitment to both family and faith.

Mother Lang was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Archie V. Lang, Sr.; her sons, James Cleveland Lang, Moses T. Lang, and Michael David Lang; her parents, Moses T. Fields, Sr. and Hattie Olivia Fields; and ten of her siblings, including Vera Lee Fields, Maggie Fields, Moses T. Fields, Jr., William Fields, James Wendell Fields, and Thelma Fields.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Kenneth Lee Lang (Ardella), Leonard Thomas Lang (Kay), Archie Valco Lang (Shirley), Thelma O. Lang Walker, William G. Lang, Sr. (Sandy), S. Marie Lang Wilson (Stephen L.R. Wilson, Sr.), Evelyn G. Lang Howell, Elmer Claiborne Lang a.k.a. “Bodie” (Larzetta), Jacqueline D. Lang Winston, Everett C. Lang, Sr. (Sherry), Robert Mark Lang, Sr. (Doris), Martin L. Lang, Sr. (Lanita), and Charlotta “Six Tina” Brown; her surviving brothers, Kenneth Fields and Anderson Claiborne Fields; a daughter-in-law, Connie Lang, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, extended family members, spiritual children, and friends.

After ninety-seven years of faithful living, Mother Naomi Lucille Lang entered into eternal rest on June 13, 2026. Her life remains a testimony of unwavering faith, devoted service, enduring love, and complete obedience to God. Her legacy continues through the family she nurtured, the church she founded, and the countless lives she touched through prayer, encouragement, and ministry.

Mother Naomi Lucille Lang’s life stands as a testimony that when God calls, faithfulness matters more than opposition. Though others may have told her to sit down, she spent a lifetime standing firmly in the calling God placed upon her life.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled, Saturday, June 27, 2026, 11:00 a.m., Boulevard Christian Church, 1700 W. Shawnee Street, Muskogee, OK; with her daughter, Minister Marie Wilson, delivering the eulogy. The Final View will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Lang Family Cemetery, Boynton, OK.

Visitation will be Friday, June 26, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A Wake is scheduled Friday, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
