Obituary

Mozetta Ruth Harlin McNac peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. She was born on May 30, 1956, in Blackjack, Oklahoma, to the late Mose Nelson and Willie Ruth Ingram Harlin. She gave her life to Christ at age 11 under the tutelage of Rev. EJ Rose of Jerusalem Baptist Church (Muskogee).

Mozetta was raised in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where she began her educational journey at Ms. E. A. Session Kiddie College. She later attended Muskogee High School where she marched proudly with the Muskogee High School Drill Team and graduated as a member of the Class of 1974. Following high school, she continued her education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

In August 1977, Mozetta united in marriage with Jimmie Johnson. To this union, one son, Jerome Alan Johnson, was born. Although that marriage later ended, Mozetta remained devoted to her son and family. She later found love again and married Edgar McNac, Jr. Together, they lovingly raised three children: Kornelius Morgan, Kadizsha Morgan, and Kenneth McNac.

Blessed with a keen sense of style and beauty, Mozetta began her career as a cosmetologist at the age of sixteen. Her passion for fashion and helping others look and feel their best led her to a successful career with JCPenney, where she faithfully served as a consultant. Through her professionalism, elegance, and warm spirit, she touched the lives of countless customers and coworkers. She remained a dedicated employee until declining health necessitated her retirement.

Mozetta was a faithful and devoted member of Four Mile Branch Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and served her church family faithfully until health challenges no longer permitted her regular attendance. Her faith, kindness, and gentle spirit were evident in the way she lived and loved others.

Mozetta possessed a quiet strength, a beautiful smile, and an undeniable sense of style that earned her the admiration of many. She cherished her family, treasured lifelong friendships, and found joy in the simple blessings of life. Her loving presence, wisdom, and grace will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mose Nelson Harlin and Willie Ruth Ingram Harlin, and by those loved ones who welcomed her into eternal rest.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her siblings Richard Clayton (Oklahoma City), Bobby Nelson Harlin, Evon Decorlis Harlin Ingram (both of Muskogee); Angela Camille Harlin Banks (Reggie) of Fort Worth, TX and Christopher Mose Harlin (Chardae) of Oklahoma City, OK); one biological son, Jerome Alan (Rikita) Johnson (Lewisville, TX); her children Kornelius Morgan, Kadizsha Morgan, and Kenneth McNac; her grandchildren Juwan Johnson, Jamia Johnson, Jakobe Johnson, J’Naya Johnson and King Bernard McNac, her great grandchildren Jamir, Tobias, Kylen along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by her love and friendship.

Though she has departed from our sight, her legacy of faith, love, beauty, and devotion will forever remain in our hearts.

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” Matthew 25:23
