Obituary

On December 5 th , 1998, a beautiful girl was born to a LaKesha D. Marshall and Jearald E. Edwards Sr, in Tulsa Oklahoma.

She was christened as a baby and grew up in Christ Temple C.M.E. Church.

Throughout her younger years MyaiA spent a lot of time at the North Maybee Boys & Girls club where she became an avid swimmer and was even recruited to be a lifeguard. While at the Mabee Center she developed love of the outdoors and nature because of the many camping trips she was able to partake in.

MyaiA also excelled academically especially in the areas of math and science. She attended Solid Foundation Preparatory Art School Academy and Burroughs Elementary School. She graduated from Walt Whitman 5 th Grade. She then continued her education at Union Public Schools where she completed her 6, 7, and 8 th grade years.

For her high school years, MyaiA returned to her north Tulsa roots and chose to attend Tulsa Central High School. While at Central she was a cheerleader, played basketball, and was a star volleyball player. During her 11 th grade year MyaiA also enrolled in Tulsa Technology Center's Certified Nursing Assistant program. In 2017 MyaiA graduated with both her diploma from Central and a CNA certificate from TTC.

With a love for science and all things medical MyaiA continued her education at Tulsa Community College's X-ray Tech Program. When she was not attending classes, she made use of her CNA certificate by working in numerous nursing homes, home health care, and caring for many individuals in hospice facilities.

On the other hand, MyaiA was not all business. She loved hanging with her friends, she liked to go on picnics and to the lake. MyaiA never met a stranger because with her big smile, deep dimples, and big heart you could not help but call her friend.

However, the most vital role to Myaia was that of mother. She loved spending time with daughter at birthday parties, family gatherings, and sometimes just by themselves. When MyaiA looked at Ke'Myiaa you saw true love in her eyes. The pride that MyaiA took in being the best mom she could and loving her daughter should be an example for us all.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

MyaiA is preceded in death by her incredibly special loving Great Aunt, Finley Hubbard (Fin Fin) with whom she shared an unbreakable bond.
