Obituary

Oliver Williams Jr. 82, a long time resident of the Grayson communuity passed away in his home, on December 1, 2011.

"His Story"

On April 11th 1929, a baby boy was born to Oliver Williams Sr. and Fredonia (Sanders)
Williams. They chose the name, Oliver Williams Jr. he was the oldest son of 13 children.

His parents Oliver and Fredonia Williams Sr., 3 sisters, 2 brothers and a grandson
preceded him in death.

Oliver grew up in Grayson Community and attended school in Grayson.

Oliver grew up to be a handsome young man and he served his country proudly in the
Army during the Korean War, and received an honorable discharge.

Oliver met a beautiful young lady, Barbara Wilson, after courting her and falling in love
they married on February 14th, and enjoyed 58 years together.

Oliver worked for Tulsa Steel Company, after being employed there for several years; he
decided to become self-employed as a landscaper in the year of 1961. He did beautiful
work in the Okmulgee area, and made yards of his customers look like they belonged in
"Better Homes & Gardens".

He retired in the year 2008. He also produced the C&W Rodeo Company with his partner
and good friend Elvert Celestine.

Oliver "looked to the hills from which cometh thy help", on early Thursday morning
December 1, 2011 in his home, with family at his side.

Remaining to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Barbara of the home, four sons, Rev.
Raymond (Wendy) Tucker, Grayson, OK; Wendell (Betty) Williams, IXL, OK;
Leo (Debbie) Rice, Hart, TX; and Vernon Maxwell, Grayson, OK; two daughters, Ursula
Rice, Oakland, CA; and Jacqueline (Willie) Payne, Houston, TX; three sisters, Florene
Edmonson, Stockton, CA; Doris Ogles, Phoenix, AZ; and Deloris (Eddie) Hill, Morris, OK;
four brothers, Lester (Marcella) Williams, Tulsa, OK; Ned (Mae) Williams, Omaha, NE;
Willie (Dorothy) Williams Sr., Boley, OK; Fred Williams Sr., Grayson, OK; sister-n-law
Velma Williams, Tulsa, OK; one aunt, Lula Halston (aunt Tinkie), Los Angeles, CA; 13
grandchildren; 15 great-grand; 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and
friends.

A service of memory will be conducted on Saturday, December 10, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Matthews Baptist Church, 1001 E. Chicago, Okmulgee, OK
Rev. Raymond Tucker, officiating.

Visitation: Friday, December 9, 2011 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
