Opal
Crawford
October 13, 1931 – February 11, 2019
The Life of Sister Opal Bolden Crawford
Her journey began when God sent her to this world October 13, 1931 in Summit, Oklahoma to Fannie Logan and Paul Bolden. Her parents were blessed to have 18 children.
She met and married Marion Lee Crawford and lived in Hutchinson, KS from 1939 to 1966, attending Second Street Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Alexander, pastor. God blessed them with 7 beautiful children. Opal moved to Colorado Springs, CO in 1966 and attended St. John Baptist Church under Rev. Milton E. Proby till 2005. Opal worked as a LPN for Penrose Hospital and St. Elizabeth Hospital. When she retired, she moved back to Muskogee, OK and joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church under the Leadership of Rev. J. A. Reed Sr., and after he passed away, Rev. Gary Hall became her Pastor. Opal loved her church and her faith in God is what kept her going.
God has now called Opal home and she will be with her husband, parents and her son, Carl Edwayne Crawford.
She leaves to cherish wonderful memories, her sons, Marion Lee (Amanda) Crawford Jr., Denver, CO, Mark Anthon Crawford, Muskogee, OK, Hebert Darnell (Phyllis) Crawford, North Dakota, her daughters, Karen Brooks, Wichita, KS, Aneta llene Jones, Tampa Bay, FL, Cynthia Ann Crawford, Colorado Springs, CO, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, her sister, Jean Fulbright and a host of family members.
Speak of me as you have always done. Remember the good times, laughter, and fun. Share the happy memories we've made. Do not let them wither or fade.
I'll be with you in the summer's sun, and when the winter's chill has come.
I'll be the voice that whispers in the breeze. I'm peaceful now, put your mind at ease.
I've rested my eyes and gone to sleep, but memories we've shared are yours to keep.
