Ophelia Inez (Hall) McMillon, a beloved member of her community and a cherished soul, affectionately known as "Mrs. McMillon" to her students and community, "Sister Mac" to her church family, peacefully passed away on January 11, 2024, in Arizona at the age of ninety-nine.
Ophelia was a beacon of love and compassion. Her inner beauty shone through, illuminating the lives of those around her. Known for her contagious smile, elegant handwriting and her exceptional skills as an educator, she was patient, sweet, compassionate, and kind.
Ophelia was a dedicated educator who made a significant impact as a 2nd Grade School Teacher in Clinton Public Schools. Ophelia's passion for teaching, and commitment to education was impeccable. Ophelia received a B.S. in Education and a Master of Teaching.
Her involvement in various organizations demonstrated her passion for community. Her faith was an essential aspect of her life, as a devoted member of the Southeast Church of Christ, and Excelsior Alumni.
Ophelia was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, parents, Harlen and Katie Hall, daughter, Barbara, brothers, Harlen Hall Jr., and Henry Hall, sister, Juanita Jones, sister-in-law, Rosetta Hall, niece, Sharon Gilmore, great-nephew, "C.Q." Ronald Smith Jr., and pet companion, cat, Amy.
Beyond her professional and community endeavors, Ophelia cherished the sound of loved ones' voices, as telephone conversations brought her immeasurable happiness. Other than receiving calls, she took pleasure in sending and receiving personal written letters and cards, embracing the beauty of a thoughtful message. Her gratitude for life's blessings was contagious, and she celebrated every moment with grace and enthusiasm.
Her presence and unwavering support were a constant source of comfort and love to those around her.
She is survived by her nephews, Jerome Hall and Harold Mack, nieces, Gwendolyn Perry, Joyce Bray, Gwendolyn (Ronald) Smith, and Pamela Clark and three additional generations of great-nephews and nieces.
She expressed kindness and love continually, brightening the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. Ophelia's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
In this time of sorrow, let us remember and honor the extraordinary legacy of Ophelia McMillon, a woman who dedicated her life to kindness, education, generosity and love.
A Graveside Service is scheduled Friday, January 26, 2024 at 1:00 p.m., Clinton City Cemetery, Clinton, OK; She will be lying in repose Thursday, 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in Precious Memories Chapel-Okmulgee
