Oscar Deckard, age 72, Retired Anchor Glass Plant, a long time resdent of Okmulgee, passed away,
Tuesday, February 3, 2015 in Muscogee Creek Nation Medical Center.
A Beautiful boy named Oscar Conray Deckard was born November 10, 1942 to Fred & Hearlean Deckard.
Oscar Sr. was a longtime resident of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was employed with Big Four Foundry and Anchor Glass Plant.
He professed his love for Christ at an early age.
Oscar Conray Deckard met and married, Wanda Lu Powdrill on October 8, 1962.
Oscar loved to fish, hunt and work on cars. He also loved spending time with his family.
Oscar better known as OC and Shorty were his nicknames.
OC went home to be with the Lord on February 3, 2015 at Muscogee Creek nation Medical Center.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Fred & Hearlean Deckard wife, Wanda Lu Deckard, son, Richard Deckard, daughter, Cassandra Deckard, three sisters, Loretta, Zenobia and Salina Deckard, a grandchild and daughter, Krista Deckard.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a son, Oscar Deckard, Jr., Dallas, TX; one grandson who he raised as a son, Demond Deckard, Dallas. TX; sister, Christine Thomas, two brothers, Frank Deckard and Kenneth (Karen) Deckard, all of Okmulgee, OK; a very special niece, Vickie Ervin, Tulsa, OK; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Graveside Service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, 11:00 a.m. in Northwest Cemetery.
Visitation: Monday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
The family has been cared for by House of Winn Funeral Home.
