Paul Lawrence
Bruner Sr.
November 15, 1937 – August 11, 2020
Paul Lawrence Bruner Sr. was born on November 15, 1937, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Allen and Florence Bruner. He matriculated through the Muskogee Public Schools System. After leaving school, he married and had two sons, Larry and Jerry. After the relationship dissolved, he met and married the love of his life, MaeAlla Bruner, in 1957. They added another son, Paul Jr., to their family.
Paul loved and provided for his family. He worked several jobs but retired from Acme after many years. Paul found a considerable amount of enjoyment in many activities. He was a great dancer and his wife, Mae loved to tell the story about how it was his dancing that caught her eyes. Paul was an avid roller skater and was often seen on the floor doing his legendary moves. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle until his sight began to diminish. Paul also enjoyed fishing and bowling with his wife.
Paul departed this life on August 11, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Mae of almost 59 years, and son, Paul Jr.
Paul leaves to mourn his passing, his sons, Larry (Virginia) of Houston, Texas and Jerry Bruner of Dallas, Texas; granddaughters, Katisha and Natalya Bruner; grandsons, Laurence and Paul Bruner III; Brothers in Love, Rev. Curtis Murray, James Wright, and Roy Jackson; Sisters in Love, Maxine Pouncil, Patricia Jackson, and Joann Murray; Special niece, Carolyn Thomas, Play daughter, Lorrie Chatman; special granddaughter, Brandy Logan, and a host of family and friends.
A Home Going Celebration will be conducted, Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 11 a.m. in the Precious Memories Chapel of House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee. Interment will follow in Booker T. Washington cemetery. The casket will remain closed.
MASKS are mandatory for everyone in attendance.
The family has been cared for by House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee.
