Phyllis Marie Thierry was born on December 26, 1969 in Okmulgee, OK.

She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a member of Greater Jones Chapel since childhood.

Phyllis received her primary education in the Okmulgee Public School system. After graduating Okmulgee High in 1988, she attended Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee. She graduated with an Associates degree in 1991. After her education she secured gainful employment in various law firms. Later she worked as a surveillance operator at Creek Nation Casino's.

Phyllis was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She had a playful, comedic demeanor and transferred that energy to everyone around. She enjoyed spending time with her young nieces, nephews and cousins.

Phyllis fought a long, hard battle. She maintained her loyalty to the Lord throughout.

Phyllis was called home on Thursday, December 15, 2016

Those who remain to cherish her memories include her daughter, MiCayla Ruff, granddaughter, Isabella Reyes, mother, Ruth Bird-Thierry, father, George Thierry, brothers, Denogus Thierry, Jr., all of Okmulgee, OK; Phillip Williams, Arlington, TX; along with a host of friends, relatives and co-workers.

Phyllis expressed sincere and special thanks to Mike Tuggle, Patrick Motte, Gerard Drew and Tyrone Massey.

We will see her again.

A Home Going Service is scheduled for Tuesday, December 20, 2016, 11:00 a.m., Greater Jones African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, 1226 E. Smith Street, Okmulgee, OK; with Pastor Terry Howard, Sr., eulogizing.  Interment will follow in Sharp Memorial Garden, Okmulgee, OK.

Visitation will be Monday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
