Obituary

Prentice Jamal Walker entered the lives of loving parents, Prentice and Yolonda Walker, on a warm, bright, sunny Wednesday, May 7, 1986.

Jamal, affectionately known as "J", lived in Oklahoma City, but spent a lot of time in Boynton with his grandmothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Boynton was like a second home to him; J was a country boy at heart.

J attended Wilson Elementary, Harding Middle, and graduated from Millwood High School in 2005. He was a member of JROTC and played football for the Millwood Falcons; they were state champions in 2002 and J was proud to wear his championship ring. J was a member of People's Church of Oklahoma City.

Later in life, J referred to himself as Prentice James Walker Jr, and just like his dad, he was an avid OSU Cowboys fan. He loved being a diehard Pokes fan.

J shared the love of landscaping/lawn service with his dad and worked alongside at Done Right Landscaping and Tree Service.

J was a man of few words, but you always knew how he felt and could feel his love through his actions. He shared a very close bond with his sister, Brittny, and was like a second dad to his nephew, Kalel (KJ). J was all about love for his family, he was an awesome cousin/uncle to Lyric and Mannie. He loved spending time at the Walker family functions. #WalkerPride

J is preceded in death by his mother, Yolonda; grandparents, Herbert and Eddie Walker, Sr, and Elinor Hutchinson; aunts, Ruby Wilson, and Willa Howard (Bonnie); uncles, Lawrence Greer, Jr (Brother), and Wayne Cornelius; and cousins, Marcus Penny and Ashanti Johnson.

J leaves to cherish his memories, a loving father, Prentice; sister, Brittny; and nephew, Kalel, all of Oklahoma City. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends along with a special brother, Michael Penny; special sisters, Kyra Johnson and LaBrenda Hutchinson; and special cousins, Jermain, Wendell Jr, Courtney, Keddrick, Scottie, Breanna, Benjamin, Bill Jr, Michael W, Boomer, Jason, Ezra, Lester, Steven, and Sheldon; and a special friend to the family, Marsha Lewis.

J's signature signoff was Prentice-James Jamal Walker #WalkerPride
