Rachel Carter Ellis, age 69, a long time resident of Boynton,OK
passed away, Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in OSU Medical Center, Tulsa, OK.
Rachel M. Carter Ellis was born February 19, 1945 to the proud parents of Mr. B. and Mrs. Pearl Carter, in Boynton, OK. She was the seventh of ten children born to this union.
Rachel attended Wheatly High School, Boynton, OK.
She professed her love for Christ at an early age and became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Rachel was baptized in 1955 under the direction of Rev. Wallace.
Rachel was a loving mother, grandmother and homemaker.
She went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 28, 2015.
Rachel is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Christie, brothers, Eddie, Lee, James, sister, Birdie Mae and one other sibling.
She leaves to cherish her memories a son, Ronnie of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Loretta (Dedric) McBride, Tulsa, OK; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, sisters, Katherine Younger and Lorene Howell, both of Boynton, OK; brothers, Johnnie Carter, Raymond Carter, Edward (Mary) Carter, all of Detroit, Michigan; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her.
A Home Going service will be conducted Saturday, February 7, 2015, 11:00 a.m. Boynton Community Center, Boynton, OK; with Rev. Anthony Folks, eulogizing. Interment will follow in Lang Cemetery, Boynton, OK.
Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
The family has been cared for by Granger-House of Winn Funeral home.
