Randall
Chatman
March 25, 1953 – February 10, 2022
Reflections
God saw you were getting weary, so he did what he thought was best. He came and stood beside you and whispered, "Come with Me and rest."
Randall (we called him Randy) was born March 25, 1953 to Virgust and Reba Chatman. He was the ninth of twelve children…five boys and seven girls. Randy attended Beggs Public School, Beggs, Oklahoma. He later joined the military and served in the United Sates Army. While serving, he was stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas as well as one year in Korea and one year in Okinawa, Japan.
After leaving the military, he worked in West Texas. Later he returned to Oklahoma and worked in maintenance in Tulsa. Finally, he moved back to Beggs and continued to work maintenance in Sapulpa. His greatest talent was mechanics, and he loved working on automobiles and small engines. There wasn't a problem under the hood of a vehicle that he could not resolve.
Randy had a giving heart. He helped whomever he could, whenever he could and wherever he could. He loved watching westerns and listening to music. His favorite song was, 'I'll Take You There' by the Staple Singers. He played it over and over because he found great joy in the lyrics.
In January, 2013, Randy became ill and was rushed to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On February 1, 2013, he was moved from St. John and became a resident of Claremore Veterans Center, Claremore, Oklahoma where he received the special care that was required. On February 10, 2022, nine year later, God called him home to rest.
His loving parents; one brother who was still born; two other brothers, LaVirgust and Dwayne Chatman; sister Marcella Goudeau; brother-in-law, Lawrence Goudeau and sister-in-law Charlotte Chatman preceded him in death.
Randy leaves to cherish his memories: one brother, Lindver Chatman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six sisters, Sophia (Winford) Willie, Edmond, Oklahoma, Deloris (Leroy) Brown of Beggs, Oklahoma, Charity Chatman, Martha Chatman, Laguitia Tate and Janet Wilson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one aunt, Betty Williams of Spencer, Oklahoma and one uncle Billy Joe Demery of Beggs, Oklahoma, whom he loved spending time with; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Service of Memory, will be conducted, Saturday, February 26,2022 at 11:00 a.m. in First Baptist Church-South Beggs, OK, with Pastor Greg Lewis, eulogizing. Interment will follow in Beggs cemetery, Beggs, OK. Public visitation, Friday, February 25, 2022 from 1:00 - 5:00PM in the Precious Memories Chapel of House of Winn Funeral Home-Okmulgee.
