Rebecca Oletta
Keys
November 28, 1947 – November 14, 2025
It is with deep love and profound gratitude that we celebrate the life of Rebecca Oletta Keys, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and lifelong caregiver whose gentle spirit touched countless lives. She transitioned peacefully on November 14th, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Muskogee, OK on November 28th, 1947, she was the fifth of six children of John Henry Green, Sr. & Hazel McNeely. She graduated from Manual Training High School in 1966, beginning a journey rooted in service, compassion and unwavering dedication to community.
She married the love of her life, Marvin Keys of Tahlequah, Oklahoma on June 19th, 1968 and together they built a life rich with family, faith and resilience. Their union was blessed with three children. She remained devoted to his memory after his passing in 1993.
Her commitment to nurturing others extended far beyond her home and into her community; where she was affectionately known as the neighborhood "Candy Lady", a title she held with joy, generosity and a sweetness that matched her spirit.
She united with Rayfield Baptist Church in 1955. Over the years, she served with distinction as President of the Junior Choir, President of the Junior Usher Board, President of the Creek District Youth and held roles in the Senior Choir as both Secretary and Vice President along with serving as a Sunday School Teacher.
For 47 years, she served as a Certified Home Health Aide with Muskogee Regional Medical Center, impacting the lives of thousands of patients and families with her skillful hands and compassionate heart. Her excellence in care did not go unnoticed as she received multiple awards for Home Health Nursing Excellence in 1997, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2005. She was also honored as Outstanding Home Health Aide / Homemakers of the Year by the Oklahoma Association for Home Care in 2002, 2004 and 2005. Her work was more than a career; it was a calling, and she carried it with integrity, pride and grace.
She will be remembered for her warm smile, her quiet strength, her deep love for her family and the way she cared for others without hesitation or complaint.
She was preceded in death by her mother Hazel Green, father John Henry Green, husband Marvin Keys, brother Willie B. Green, sisters, Lee Esther Cotton, Luverne Culton & bonus-son Michael (Tody) Daniels.
She is survived by her siblings: John Henry Green & Faye Pickett, both of California.
