To all things there is a season. A season for life and a season for death. On November 3, 1947 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma a season of life was provided to Alma Jones and Webb Smith, a baby boy.  They named him, Richard Charles Smith.

Richard met and married the love of his life, Peggy L. Smith and to this union four children were born and Bennie Jones.

Richard worked and retired from Randy's Frozen Meats.

Richard enjoyed, fishing, camping, hunting and being in the company of family.

He was called home, Friday, March 10, 2017.

Preceding him in death are his wife, father, and step-father, Willie Jones, brothers, Larry Smith, Sr., and Stacy Jones, sisters, Demetria Jones and Evette McGriff, and a great-granddaughter, Avarie Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Richard (Donna) Smith II, Webb (Christina) Smith III, all of Tulsa, OK; Kendris (Toi) Smith and Demetrias Smith, all of Okmulgee, OK; and Bennie Jones, grandchildren, Richard L. Smith III, Keishawn Gardner, Kendal and Kennedy, all of Okmulgee, OK; Chaness, Khloe, and Chasidy, all of Tulsa, OK; a great-grandson, Richard K. Smith IV, Okmulgee, Ok, his mother, Alma Jones, Tulsa, OK; a brother, Johnny Ray Smtih, Tulsa, OK; two great-aunts, Gladys Reed, Okmulgee, OK and Emma Lankster, Lawton, OK; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will truly miss him.

A Home Going Service is scheduled Saturday, March 18, 2017, 11:00 a.m., St. Matthew Baptist Church, 1001 E. Chicago Street, Okmulgee, OK; with Rev. Terrance Reed, Sr. Eulogizing.  Interment will follow in Sharps Memorial Garden Cemetery, Okmulgee, OK.

Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
