Mrs. Rita Betts Watson, 81, a resident of Muskogee, OK; passed away on Saturday, October 13 ^th , 2018 at her residence in Muskogee.

She was the second child of Douglas and Ollie Davis Betts in Groesbeck, TX; on September 3, 1937.

Rita attended Muskogee Public Schools, Douglas Elementary and Manual Training High School class of 1955.

After graduating, she continued her education with a BS degree from Lincoln University, Lincoln, MO. She obtained her Master's Degree and taught at Muskogee school system until her retirement.

She met and married Dr. Willie Watson who preceded her in death. No children were born to this union.

Rita was a devoted and faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Catholic Charities and the Catholic Altar Society. She was also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.

She is survived by one devoted sister, Dorothy (Dottie) Betts of Muskogee, one sister in law, Coleen McIver of McRay, GA and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Mass is scheduled Monday, October 22, 2018, 10:30 a.m., St. Joseph Catholic Church, 321 N. Virginia Street, Muskogee, OK; with interment to follow in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  A Rosary will follow the visitation.
