Carmans Sr.
January 22, 1936 – February 18, 2024
Robert Lee Carmans Sr. the son of Thomas L. Carmans and Fannie Morrien Notes Brown was born January 22nd, 1936 in Summit, Oklahoma. He received his high school education at the Dubois High School in Summit, Oklahoma and served his country in both Army and Navy branches.
Robert was a loving father, and cared very much for his grandchildren they always seemed to keep a smile on his face. He was well respected and loved. Friends and family that knew him in his earlier years would probably have known Robert (AKA Scooby), for his athleticism and joy of basketball and baseball, his outgoing nature and the ability to be the life of the party. Those who knew him in his later years would probably agree that he was easy going, calm minded, caring, protective, honorable and loyal.
Robert was married to Helen Carmans for some time and mutually separated. Robert later met Armetta Syrus in which he fathered two sons. Jeremy Carmans and Robert Carmans Jr.
Robert's journey of life was filled with joy and love but came to a close on Sunday, February 18th, 2024 at Eastgate Village Retirement Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Robert leaves to cherish is honorable memories in life to his sons, Jeremy and Robert, brother, Thomas L. Carmans and wife Alethia Carmans along with a host of nieces and nephews (step-nieces & nephews) to list a few: Cody Carmans, Billie Webb, Valerie Carmans-Gorman, Thomas Carmans III, Delores Wright and husband Scotty, Janet Edwards; stepdaughter, Teresa Gill; Josephine Vaughn: first cousin who he loved like a sister; grandchildren, Jeremy Carmans, Jr., Jordan Carmans, Kamari Carmans, Julian Carmans, Jashara Carmans and Cheyenne Carmans.
Robert Lee Carmans Sr. your family will miss you, we mourn your loss, but we were blessed and honored to have known you and we celebrate your Home Going. Until We Meet Again...
A Home Going service is scheduled Saturday, February 24, 2024, 11:00 a.m., 18th & Denison Church of Christ with Bro. Eric Rodgers offering Words of Comfort to the family. Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Interment will be Monday, February 26, 2024, 1:30 p.m., Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, Ft. Gibson, OK; with military honors performed by US Navy Honor Guard.
