Robert Murl Derrick was born on March 5th, 1950 to Paul Derrick and Rosa Lee Derrick. He was the middle child of his brothers Paul and Frederick "Larry". Robert graduated High School in Waco, TX, where he played the Saxophone in the band, after high school he enlisted in the US Army. Robert was often called by his middle name Murl or Mr. Clean and was well known for his big smile and fancy wardrobe.

On Oct. 13th, 2022 Robert passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his wife of 50 years Denise, his daughter Captoria and Granddaughter Raquel.

He is preceded in death by his Father Paul Sr., his Mother Rosa Lee and his brothers Paul Jr. and Frederick "Larry".

He leaves to cherish his memory his Wife Denise King-Derrick and his children Captoria King, Odell Dean, Montell Bolden, Larhonda Bolden, Reggie Perkins, CJ Ledbetter, Robert Puckett, Ashley Ledbetter and Shanice Ledbetter, a close granddaughter Raquel Clark, and a host of Grandchildren. A close nephew Frederick Derrick, Jr., along with several nieces, nephews and extended family members that will miss him dearly.

Graveside rites for, Robert M. Derrick, will be conducted, Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in Ft Gibson National cemetery, Ft Gibson, OK with military honors provided by American Legion Post 20, Ft Gibson, OK.
