Celebration of Life

Robert (Bobby) Ray Garland was born June 15, 1939 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Bob Anderson and Jeanette Garland.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joan Garland; Daughter, Denise Garland and Brothers, Loomis Boulware, Walter Garland, Sr. and Sisters, Janice Gladney, Shirley Hargrove and Grandson, Dequan Hart.

Bob graduated from Manual Training Center. After graduating he moved to Chicago, Illinois where he worked for Shure Brothers. In his spare time he loved telling jokes to his kids and family. He enjoyed cooking, he would make skillet sized pancakes. He enjoyed talking about baseball with his boys and sharing childhood stories with his family. He always stressed the importance of school to his children.

He leaves behind Daughter, Renee Hart; Sons, Robert Garland, Andre Garland, Sr., and Walter Garland. He leaves behind his only living sibling Bennie Garland, Sr. He also leaves behind 13 grandkids, 14 great grandkids and 2 great-great grandkids along with a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.

A Service of Memory will be conducted, Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Precious Memories Chapel of House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee, with Pastor Wayne Schuett of First Lutheran church, eulogizing.  Interment will follow in Booker T. Washington cemetery, Muskogee, OK.

Public visitation, Friday, September 15th in the Precious Memories Chapel of House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee, during the hours of 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
