Roosevelt "Stick
Horse" Frazier Sr.
January 25, 1937 – November 3, 2021
Roosevelt was born to Rosie Mae Crawford Hall and Bufford Frazier on January 25, 1937. He was raised by his stepfather, Henry Hall. He graduated from the Historic DuBois High School of Summit, Oklahoma. Roosevelt was affectionately called "Stickhorse" by his family and friends.
He loved fancy cars and took excellent care of them, beginning with his first, which was a 1957 pink Ford. He was also known for his fashionable attire.
Roosevelt married his childhood sweetheart, Vernice Beasley. To this union, one son was born. He was named Roosevelt Jr. Roosevelt was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1968. He attended Okmulgee Tech, graduating with a 3.0 with a Numerical Control Machinist degree. He retired from the Corps of Engineers at Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
Roosevelt's parents and two siblings preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 62 years, Vernice; son, Roosevelt (Menhyon) Frazier of Muskogee, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Vernice 11 (Hameed) Holt of Bel Aire, Kansas; great-grandsons, Qyree, K'mari, and King Holt; two step-granddaughters, Manaria and Jazlynn; one step-great-grandson, Jabari; one step-great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Dorothy Jackson of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and Anzetta Hall of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brothers, Freddy (Denise) Hall of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Roy Lee (Faye) Hall of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sisters-in-law, Louise Smith of Arlington, Texas, Celestine Murray of Arlington, Texas, Betty Childers of Grand Prairie, Texas, Constance Beasley of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Machelle Hunter of Oxnard, California, Annie M. Brooks of Wichita, Kansas, and Brenda Richardson of Wichita, Kansas; brothers-in-law, Alfred Beasley of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Isaac (Sharon) Beasley of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Clifford (Gwenell) Beasley of Hartwell, Georgia; along with many nephews, nieces, and friends.
A Home Going Celebration will be conducted, Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021 at 10 a.m. in Oasis Community Church, 800 W. Peak Blvd, Muskogee, OK Public Visitation, Friday, Nov. 12th in Precious Memories Chapel/House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee during the hours of 1:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
Interment will be Monday, Nov.15, 2021 at 2:30 P.M. in Ft Gibson National Cemetery, Ft Gibson, OK
