In the Summer of 1951 on June 21 ^st in Jackson, Tennessee was born a blessed baby boy to Houston E. Thompson and Thelma Lee Thompson Rogers.  He was named Roy Lonnie.

Growing up "Lonnie" was the life of the party among his siblings. Lonnie attended Jackson-Madison County Schools.

He accepted Christ at a young age and also led many souls to Christ. On August 4, 1972, he met and married Mabeline Culclager Thompson and this union was blessed with fourteen (14) children.   He is also the father of Tongderia (Matt) Hill, Aloya Thompson and Donte` Edwards.

One of Lonnie's proudest moments was cooking and fellowshipping with family and friends and watching his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Lonnie worked many years for Muskogee Housing Authority, North American Van Lines and Otasco but his favorite job was being a supervisor at El Chico's Restaurant. He loved coming home and cooking his family some TEX-MEX.

Lonnie was a great poet. He was what some would call, a people person. He never met a stranger.

In the early morning of March 23, 2018, Lonnie departed this earthly life.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ernest Thompson.

A Home Going Service is scheduled Saturday, March 31, 2018, 11:00 a.m., Harvest Ministries Church, 2200 E. Okmulgee Street, Muskogee, OK; with Rev. Clarence Johnson, eulogizing.

Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
