Ruth Ann Mitchell, was born June 2, 1951 in Okmulgee, OK; to LT Colbert Sr. and Delorise Shannon.  She was the eldest girl out of 12 children.

Ruth received her education in Okmulgee, OK. She went on to continue her studies as a Healthcare provider at Oklahoma State Tech, Okmulgee, OK.

She professed a love for Christ at an early age and was a longtime member of Mt Zion Baptist Church, Okmulgee, OK.

Ruth Ann, loved gardening, growing flowers.  She was blessed with a green thumb!  She also enjoyed sewing.  Ruth could be found reading the Bible often.  Her favorite scripture was Psalm 23.

She had a son. Ruth named him Troy Mitchell Jr.  He was everything to her.

Ruth went home to be with the Lord, September 4, 2023

Preceding her in death, her parents, her brothers, LT Colbert Jr. and Wesley Colbert.

Those left to cherish her memory, her son, Troy Mitchell, Jr., Okmulgee, OK; Siblings; Ted (Zelma) Tate, Tulsa, OK; Lular (Albert) Tucker, Lois (JD) Hammon, Nathaniel Colbert, Bobby Colbert, Shirley Colbert, Ray (Diane) Colbert, Terrina Alexander, all of Okmulgee, OK; and Eileen (Darryl) Murdock, Broken Arrow, OK; along with a host of nieces and nephews that will miss her.

Graveside Rites are scheduled Saturday, September 9, 2023, 11:00 am, Woodlawn Cemetery, Okmulgee, OK; with her Pastor Dr. Douglas M. Currington offering Words of Comfort.

Visitation will be Friday, 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm
