Ruth Ella (McClain) Wilson was born on August 18, 1927 in Rentiesville, Oklahoma to Fred Mack and Ethel Lee McClain. She was the fifth child born of 11 children.

Growing up in Muskogee she graduated from Manual Training High School and attended Metropolitan Baptist Church. Ruth was a lead singer in the choir and loved to sing praises unto the Lord. She was blessed with a gift of singing as well as her beloved son, Ira Lee. Also, she was a faithful servant and served in several capacities in the church.

Ruth met James Wilson whom she loved dearly and later united in marriage in 1947. To this union one child was born, Ira Lee. She worked many years at T. J. Elliot's Clothing Store which was located on South Main Street. Ruth was a homebody as well and loved to cook with her specialty in baking pies.

She is preceded in death by her husband, son, parents and 10 siblings: Cleveland, George Mack, Matthew, Eddie, Frank, Joe, Addie, Ernestine, Anna and Ethel Mae.

Leaving to cherish her memory are: 2 loving granddaughters: Shymekia Adams and Jonolia Wilson both of Muskogee OK, 3 great grandsons; Dawaylon, SaVeion, and ReSean Sister-in-Law: Jean McClain, Brother-in-Law: Casey Jones, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A Home Going Service is scheduled Saturday, January 27, 2018, 1:00 p.m., First Baptist Church, 429 Denison St., Muskogee, OK; with Rev. David Ragsdale, eulogizing.  Interment will follow in Booker T. Washington Cemetery, Muskogee, OK.

Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
