Obituary

Sherman Lollis Sr. was born to the union of the late George Lollis Sr. and Lillie Mae Carr-Lollis (Mama Lillie) on May 25, 1941. He received his formal education in Rentiesville schools.  Sherman continued his education at Penn Valley Community College where he received his Associates Degree studying Criminal Justice.

Sherman was a United States Veteran. He served as a Sergeant in the Airforce. He also served as a Sergeant First Class in the Army and retired from the Army Reserves. He worked for the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department as a Detective, he was a Sergeant for Jess Dunn Correctional Center in Taft, OK, and he was a Sergeant for the Arizona State Penitentiary in Phoenix, AZ and a Sergeant for the Eufaula Police Department in Eufaula, OK where he retired.

Sherman was a loved man with a charm and smile that can light up a room. He enjoyed laughing, talking, playing dominos with family and friends and was known as the "Master of Dominos." You could always find Sherman sitting in his recliner watching Westerns, basketball, football, wrestling and Boxing.

He is preceded in death by both parents George Lollis Sr. and Lillie Mae Carr-Lollis, his siblings: Clemmie Lollis, Danny Lewis Ragsdale, Willis Lollis, Danny Lollis-Henderson, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Lollis-Bryd and Patricia (Tish) Lollis-Harris.

He is survived by his wife Julie Lollis of Rentiesville, OK, his beloved brother James Lollis (Adrienne) of Rentiesville, OK, his children James Andrews (step-son) of Kansas City, MO, Debra Andrews of Kansas City, MO, Sherman Lollis Jr. (Jacquelyn) of Kansas City, MO, Jackie Lollis of Kansas City, MO, Tamicka Lollis-Green (Jackie) of Muskogee, OK, Erica Grant of Kansas City, KS, Kamonae Carey of Muskogee, OK, Ronald Jordan (Arion) of Rentiesville, OK, Erica Smith (Randy) of Checotah, OK, 28 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Home Going service is scheduled, Saturday, March 16, 2019, 1:00 p.m., First Baptist Church, Rentiesville, OK; with Interment to follow in Honey Springs Cemetery, Rentiesville, OK.

Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
