Obituary

On June 27, 1952 Harold Sr. and Annie Mae Triggs welcomed Starling Leon Triggs into the world. Leon was the fifth of 13 children.

At a young age Leon began attending Cane Creek Church with his grandmother Tennessee Triggs. Leon was a student at Wheatley public school and a very industrious young man. At the age of 14 he showed a love for working with horses. Leon began breaking horses with longtime friend Larry Brown at Bob Reavis' Ranch. Mr. Reavis was not only his employer he became a cherished mentor and friend. In 1971 Leon was blessed with the birth of his first child Tanya Wilson, the following year he was drafted into the Army. The majority of his time in the military was served in Nuremberg, Germany. During Leon's tenure in the military he met and befriended David Lee Burnett, they remained the closest of friends until David's untimely passing. Following Leon's military discharge he received training from Leonard Walker and became a cement finisher. He also met and married Barbara Fields, to this union was born one daughter, Starla Triggs.

Leon excelled at his job and worked for many years in management roles. In the years to come he was blessed with a son and daughter, Marquis and Laknetta White. In 1989 Leon united with his life partner Lola Ballard and her daughters, Tywanna Clark and Camilla Ballard, they immediately became a family. The family became complete with the birth of LeMaeya Triggs.

Leon served on the Boynton Public School Board for over 10 years, he was very proud of the time served. Leon retired from Cantera Concrete Company in 2015, during retirement he enjoyed fishing, visiting with loved ones, cheering on America's team "The Dallas Cowboys" and deepening his relationship with the Lord. Leon's family affectionately refers to him as the "Boss" and his presence will be greatly missed.

Leon was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Annie Mae Triggs, brothers, Sanford Triggs and Eugene Peters.

Leon leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Lola Triggs, of the home, father, Harold Triggs, Sr., Boynton, OK; daughter, Tanya Rowe (Wayne), Mesquite, TX; daughter, Starla Triggs,Dallas, TX; son, Marquis White, Tulsa, OK; daughter, LeMaeya Triggs, Muskogee, OK; daughter, Laknetta White, Okmulgee, OK; daughter, Tywanna Nichols, Dallas, TX; daughter, Camilla Ballard,Tulsa, OK; sisters and brothers, Patricia Cook, San Francisco, CA; Calvin Triggs, Victorville, CA; Harold Triggs Jr. (Annie Mae), Muskogee, OK; Rita Williams (Lesley),Oklahoma City, OK; Gary Triggs, Boynton, OK; Annaretta Triggs-Hodge (Jimmy), Oklahoma City, OK; Donald Earl Triggs, Sr., Boynton, OK; Bridgette Randolph, Yukon, OK; Rhoda Grayson, Yukon, OK; Yvette Bell (Marcus), Oklahoma City, OK; 8 grandchildren, an adopted daughter, Sheria Jardin and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Home Going Service will be conducted Saturday, November 19, 2016, 1:00 p.m., Rayfield Baptist Church, 601 Indianapolis Street, Muskogee, OK; with Rev. Leroy Walker Sr., eulogizing. Interment will follow in Cane Creek Cemetery, Boynton, OK.

Visitation, Friday 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
