September 17, 1941 – November 11, 2019
On September 17, 1941 a beautiful baby became a blessing to Elmarie Jefferson and Sylvester Shelton. She was the 1 st of 12 children to this union and was given the name Thelmarie. At an early age she was baptized at Scipio Baptist church. She attended and graduated from Lima Public School system.
On November 25, 1959 she married her first love, Blanton Henry Hill Jr., and to this union 6 children were born. They relocated to Muskogee, Oklahoma and she became a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church. She was employed at Swifts, McIntosh Nursing Center and then later Brockway Glass where she retired early due to failing health.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, great grandson, Tyrone Clay, Floyd Bud" Davenport IV, siblings, Glenn, Odis, Wilton, Cleveland, Jimmy, Loretta, and Magdaline Shelton.
She leaves to mourn her death, her children: Melinda Hill, Ramona (Melvin) Parker, Blanton (Felicia) Hill, Stanley (Stacy) Hill, Camisha (Rev. David Ragsdale Jr.), Glenn (Rosa) Hill. Her grandchildren: Adrian, Andria, Andrai, Crystal, and Cryshana Hill, Marchello, Marvell, and Marvez Vealy, Brittany Penn, Kelton Williams, Corey Scott, Tommeshia Carter, Brandon, Braisha, and Blanton IV Hill, and Joseph Jenkins, Pleasant Hill, Stanley and Stacia Keith, John McGee, Tonai and Toye Black, Jayden, Cheyenne and Glenn Hill, Jr., 38 great-grandchildren, her sisters, Jamia Jenkins, Eather Stevenson, Elnora Williams, and Maggie Shelton. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Longtime friends: Doretha Beasley, Edna Smith-Love, Ann Ballard, Ann Golden, Nora Livingston, Dorothy Sue Anderson-Fennell, Gloria Scott, Charlene Evans, Pamela Wilkerson, Edna Porter , Arthalia Garrett, Minnie Loggins, Pamela Payne, Helen Cade, Frances Criner, Loretta Rucker.
A Memorial Service is scheduled, Saturday, November 23, 2019, 10:00 a.m., Temple of Hope Church, 500 W. Broadway St., Muskogee, OK.
Visitation, Friday, November 22, 2019, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
