Obituary

"From Labor to Reward "

On November 24, 1947 a beautiful baby girl was born to Cloteal (Gay) and Claron Jones in Tullahassee, Oklahoma they named her Theresa Udell.   She started first grade at Carter G. Woodson Public School, Tullahassee, and graduated with the class of 1966.

After graduation she met and married Charles Hytche.  To this union one son was born.  They named him Carl Wayne.  This marriage was later dissolved.

Theresa grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ in her life and attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  She later recommitted herself in Baptism to Christ under the leadership of Brother Charlie White at the Red Bird Church of Christ where she remained an active member until her health began to fail.

Theresa attended Langston University for two years studying Business Education.  After Langston she join the work force as a sheet presser at Advance Laundry.  She finally found the job suited for her passion of cooking.  She became the head cook for over 20 years at Muskogee Nursing Center until her eye sight begin to fail her.

Theresa loved to cook family dinners especially on Sunday's.  She would invite the family over for her famous Turkey and Dressing, Mustard Greens, Potato Salad, Fried Chicken, Sweet Potato Pie and Pecan Pie to name a few of her famous dishes, and the family was happy to accept her invitation.  Everyone that showed up left happy and full. She also enjoyed taking and collecting pictures of the family.  If you wanted to find a family picture just ask Theresa.

On December 27, 1973 Theresa married Arthur Lee Milton, Sr., to this union one son was born Arthur Lee, Jr.

On Saturday, February 25, 2023 Theresa was taken home to be with the Lord with her family by her side.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her oldest sibling Carl and siblings that died in infancy, Carolyn and twins Wynetta and Wyman.

Theresa leaves to cherish her memory two sons Carl Wayne (Brenda) Hytche of Tullahassee, OK, and Arthur Lee Milton, Jr., of Long Beach, CA, seven grandchildren: Aleisha, Harrison (Alexis), Dominique, Kyrah, Isaiah, Camille, and Madison: four great-grandchildren Kobe, Josiah, Ezekiel, and Nevaeh: three brothers  Earl Jones,  Tullahassee, OK,  Stanley (Deborah) Jones,  Muskogee, OK , and Arnold Jones, Tulsa, OK, one sister  Anita Jones-Rozelle,  Muskogee, OK,   sister-n-law Shirley Jones, Carson, CA,  aunt Eva Jones, Gardena, CA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family.

Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.  Revelation 14:13.

A Home Going Celebration is scheduled Saturday, March 11, 2023, 11:00 a.m., 18th & Denison Church of Christ, Muskogee, OK; with Bro. Roosevelt Roy delivering the eulogy.  Interment will follow in Tullahassee Cemetery, Tullahassee, OK.  Visitation will be Friday, 1-5 p.m.
