Vernon Watson, was born May 30, 1936 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Laura and Thomas Watson. He was the youngest of four children.

He attended Jerusalem and Dunbar and graduated from Manuel Training. In 1960, he met and married Willie Mae Grant and to this union six children were born.

He worked for many years and retired from Muskogee Iron Works.

He left us for his eternal rest and peace on May 31, 2018. The family who preceded him death were his parents, Laura and Thomas Watson; sister Molly Branch; brother, Tommy Lee Watson, and a son Vernon Watson, Jr.

The family he leaves behind to cherish his memories include a sister, Joyce Clayton (Enos) and his children, Shirley Watson and Thomas Watson, of Muskogee, OK, Shonda Watson of Tulsa, OK, Kimberly Watson of Weeletka, OK and Conell Watson of Stillwater, OK, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Service of Memory is, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Macedonia Baptist Church, 418 W. Shawnee, Muskogee, OK, with the Pastor, Rev. Larry H. Smith, eulogizing.  Interment will follow in Booker T. Washington cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
