Vickie Louise
Fultz
August 29, 1954 – September 16, 2023
In the early morning hours of September 16, 2023, God commanded His precious angel, Vickie Louise Fultz, to come home after 69 years of life on earth. Vickie was born August 29, 1954, in Okmulgee, OK to Quincy and Ethel (Staton) Davis. She graduated from Okmulgee High School with the Class of 1972 and went on to obtain an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science from Okmulgee Tech (now known as Oklahoma State Institute of Technology). She had two children (Maurice and Carnis) prior to marrying Melvin Fultz on January 9, 1981. No children were born to this union but they adopted her grandson, Earl Alexander.
Vickie was a dedicated and exemplary Customer Service Representative for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (now known as AT&T). In 2006, she retired after 30 years of service and spent the initial portion of her retirement caring for her husband until his passing in the same year. She reentered the workforce at New York Life Insurance Company in 2011 and ended her employment in October 2021.
The door to Vickie's heart was always open and willing to help anyone in need, especially her family – with a meal, shelter, cash, clothes, shoes, transportation, etc. She had a nurturing and selfless spirit, and treated others with the utmost kindness and respect, regardless of how they treated her. Vickie was a loving daughter to her parents, sister to her siblings, mother to her two children, Granny/GanGan to her grand and great-grandchildren, as well as an aunt, niece, and compassionate friend. She spent her lifetime as a humble servant and member of Cleaves Memorial CME Church until the church closed in 2022. After this and as her health allowed, Vickie attended Osage Avenue Christian Church.
Preceding her in death were Vickie's parents Quincy and Ethel Davis, siblings: Princella (Pickie) Mumford, Otis (Boobie) Tuggle, Marcie Lee (Sis) Majors, Hollis Tuggle, Rendell (Rendie) Shoeboot, Albert (Pokey) Davis Sr., John (John Doe) Davis, and Delois Hooks, great grandson Brayshun Maxwell.
Vickie is survived by her son, Maurice James (Imani) of Tulsa, OK, daughter, Carnis Jefferson of Concord, NC, grandchildren: Rafiel (Kayla) Crook of Okmulgee, OK, Maurice Maxwell of Oklahoma City, OK, Earl Alexander of Tulsa, OK, Jon Jr. (Cortney) Hatcher of Tulsa, OK, Mauriyah Maxwell of Oklahoma City, OK, Classica Godwin of Tulsa, OK, Adarius and Aszjon James of Tulsa, OK, Ka'Rondria (KK) Fultz of Tulsa, OK, Adariel, KeMauri, and Imauri James of Tulsa, OK, siblings: Harold (Elaine) Ford of Oklahoma City, OK; Beatrice (Herman) Haywood of Oklahoma City, OK, Bobbie (Roosevelt) Powell of Okmulgee, OK, Donald (Marie) Sims of Irving, TX, Betty (Dave) Davis of Lawton, OK, Ysleta Davis of Oklahoma City, OK, Patricia Hammon, Mary Ann (Lee) Dean, and Rodney Davis of Okmulgee, OK, along with a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
