Virginia Knight, 83, retired cook, a resident of Riverside, CA; formerly of Muskogee, OK; transitioned, Friday, November 20, 2015.
On the great day of May 23rd, 1932, in Tullahassee, OK; a baby girl was added to the blessed union of Reger and Lucy Verner Vann. She was given the name Virginia Mae.
Virginia grew up and attended school in Arkansas Valley. She attended Carter G. Woodson. Virginia and her family later moved to Muskogee, OK.
She professed a belief in Christ at an early age and attended church faithfully, uniting with First Baptist Church in Tullahassee, OK.
In 1965 Virginia began working at Central High School and Muskogee High School and later worked for Muskogee Day Nursery, where she retired.
Virginia was a very special lady. She had a smile that would light up a room when she walked in. She was a people person and loved to cook.
On November 20th, 2015 the Lord took Virginia by the hand and led her home.
Those who preceded her in death were her parents, two brothers, four sisters, and four sons.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Beverly (Gary) Bryant, Muskogee, OK; one son, Duane Faulks, California, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She will be missed dearly and thought of daily.
Graveside rites, will be conducted, Monday, December 14, 2015 in
Booker T. Washington Cemetery, Muskogee, OK; at 10:00 a.m. with
Rev. Leroy Walker, Sr. offering words of comfort.
