Wanda Lue
Goudeau
February 8, 1945 – May 4, 2024
Wanda Lue (Bruner) Goudeau, 79, of Okmulgee, OK entered her eternal rest on May 4, 2024. She was born to the late Odessa Bruner in Henryetta, OK.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Louis and Ethel (Tilley) Bruner and Uncle Luther Bruner.
Wanda Lue gave her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of the late Pastor J.B. Brown and has been a faithful lifelong active member until her death.
Wanda began her education at Attucks Elementary School where she began as a majorette. She attended high school at the Historic Dunbar where she continued as majorette performing at the high school football games. She graduated from Dunbar in 1963. During high school, she married James Robert Wallace in February 1963. Two children were born to this union. A few years later in October 1967 she married Robert Wayne Goudeau, and to this union one child was born.
Wanda held many different employment positions throughout her life, working at Ball Brothers, Okmulgee Public Schools as a Teacher's Aide, Receptionist at the House of Winn Funeral Home, and a Home Health Provider Aide.
Wanda Lue loved to play spades, listen to music, and most of all she especially loved to dance.
Wanda will be forever cherished by her children: Tracy Rochelle Wallace, of Okmulgee, OK, Charles Derek Wallace, of Grand Prairie, TX, and Shimika Cheree Goudeau-Griffin (Xavier), of Fort Smith, AR; grandchildren: Misty J. Wallace (Chris) of Okmulgee, OK, Nikol Rogers (John), of Fort Worth, TX, Brittney S. Simms-Pope (Akili), of Oklahoma City, OK, Dolesha S. Wallace, of Fort Worth, TX, and Joshua R. Mack, of Ramstein, Germany; 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; siblings: Sarah Sier (Jamie), John Hammon (Rhonda), Shanna McKnight (Carlos), Marilyn Banks (Avery), Diana Humphrey, Claudette Butcher (Don), Martin C. Hammon (Gina), and Gerald Hammon, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled Saturday, May 11, 2024, 11:00 a.m., Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1500 N. Miami, Okmulgee, OK; with Dr. Douglas M. Currington Sr., eulogizing. Interment will follow in Hoardsville/Hoytville Cemetery, Henryetta, OK.
Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
THERE WILL BE NO VIEWING AT THE SERVICE.
