Obituary

Barbara Bentley had nine children. On December 22, 1965, Barbara Bentley and Willie Holmes , Sr. were blessed with Wilhelmina Colleen Bentley, aka Cocoa, a beautiful , strong and outgoing baby girl.

At an early age Cocoa accepted Christ in her life and was baptized by the late Elder Fullbright at the Church of the Living God, Temple #166. She was an active member at Harvest Time Outreach Ministries under Bishop Randy Markham. Cocoa was a warrior for Christ and loved to serve her church.

Cocoa attended Will Rogers High School. She was a member of the class of 1984. Due to her lifelong battle with sickle cell, she was unable to occupy employment, but that didn't stop her from being a pillar in the community. She received recognition for being the oldest sickle cell patient.

Cocoa loved her children. She taught her children to be strong and independent. Cocoa  never met a stranger. If you knew Cocoa then you knew she would give her last to anyone in need; whether it was a place to stay, food, transportation, money; you name it, she would give it.

Cocoa is preceded in death by her grandparents, Eliza and Antwine Grigsby, mother Barbara Bentley, father Willie Holmes, Sr., two sisters Anita Faye Hannah and Mary Ann Bentley, and a brother Darrell Brown.

Cocoa leaves to cherish her loving memory: her three children Miracle Bentley, Christopher Bentley and Jamarri Mayfield; an abundance of bonus children; two grandchildren Jamarkko Jackson, Jr. and Righteous Bentley; five sisters Corliss McDondle, Jane Hannah, Babbette Franks, Sheryl Truman (Jonesboro, GA) and Tiffany & Irrick Bramlett; four brothers Dellaurence "Star" Hannah, Victor "Gifted" Bentley, Willie Holmes, Jr. (Texas), and Billie Brown (Kansas City, MO); stepmother Wilzetta Faye Holmes; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, extended brothers, sisters, and friends.
