Obituary

Willie Junior Celestine was born June 30, 1934 to Elihue and Mattie Celestine in Boley, OK. He later moved to Hoffman and was united in marriage to Marlene Armstead-Celestine.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Evening Light Church of God in Christ Hoffman, OK. Throughout his lifetime he held various jobs including Jenks Lumber yard, Ellis Junk yard, Bus Driver/Assistant Coach at Dewar Public Schools where he retired and volunteer firefighter for the town of Grayson.

Willie was a sports enthusiast in his youth having participated in boxing, basketball & baseball and later volunteering with the youth in the community of Grayson. He enjoyed riding his Gold Wing motorcycle and had a fondness for fishing and hunting with his Greyhounds and later Beagles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marlene; his sisters: Wilma Jean; Nettie Mae; Edna Mae; Elizabeth; Stepsister Gustavia Anderson; Stepson Larry Armstead and Grandson Michael Douglas.

Willie leaves to cherish his memory brothers: Elvert Celestine (Rowena) Grayson OK; Burleigh House (Amy) Denver CO; ~ Daughters: Sherry Gassaway Atlanta, GA; Susan Jones Carrollton, TX; Marilyn Celestine Okmulgee, OK; Michelle Tompkins (Herman) Oklahoma City, OK; Bonnie Jameson (Anthony) Carrollton, TX; Constance Celestine (Shana) San Antonio, TX ~ Stepson Mark Holmes (Kathy) Grayson, OK; Stepdaughters: Charlene Carter, Okmulgee, Ok; Jacinta Johnson, DeSoto, TX; Wanda Mack (Nathaniel) Grayson, OK; Grandchildren (24) Great-grandchildren(35)a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He really enjoyed his daughters and thought very highly of his stepson and always commented that he had three great son-in-laws. He will be truly missed, but he has left a legacy among his children and grandchildren. Daddy, we love and miss you always and forever.

Willie aka: (Big Willie, WJ, Dub & Howlin Wolf) will be dearly missed.

A Home Going Celebration is scheduled, Saturday, April 9, 2016, 11:00 a.m. in First Baptist Church, Dewar, OK. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Grayson,OK.

Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

The family has been cared for by House of Winn Funeral Home.
