Willie Edward "Chillie" Watson Jr. age 71, college professor, a resident of Muskogee, OK; passed away, Monday, December 8, 2014 in Eastar Health System.
Willie "Chillie" Watson, Jr. was born June 21st, 1943 in Macon, Georgia to Willie and Petronia Clemons Watson, Sr. He was one of four children born to this union.
After graduating high school, Willie furthered his education by attending and graduating from Northeastern State University, Tahlequah with a BS and Master's Degree. He went to the university of Indiana where he obtained his Ph.D.
Willie also served in the armed forces, serving in the United States Air Force for eight years. He was stationed in Korea and the Far East.
On November 18th, 1966 in Hayti, Missouri, Willie married Miss Rita Betts.
For twenty years Willie was a professor at Northeastern and was also a professor at Connors State College, for several years.
On December 8th, 2014 Willie quietly left us. At the time of his death he was working with teachers who taught Learning Styles. He traveled to see several countries teaching Learning Styles.
The family he leaves to cherish their memories include his loving wife of forty-eight years, Rita Watson, of the home, sister, Colleen (Anthony) McIver, McRae, GA; niece, Zutrdia (Jerel) Hill, Macon, GA; sister-in-law, Dorothy Betts, Muskogee, OK; first cousin, Vivian Santana, Macon, GA; and special friend, Reggie Grant along with other relatives and friends
Funeral Mass will be conducted, Monday, Dec. 15, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.
in St Joseph Catholic church. Interment will follow in Ft Gibson
National cemetery.
A Rosary will be Sunday at 6:00 p.m. in the Granger Colonial Chapel.
