Obituary

On February 12, 1933, Willie Carter was born to the proud parents, Willie and Maude Carter, at Vann's Lake, Wagoner County, OK.

Willie received his primary education at a Langston Elementary and attended historic Manual Training High School in Muskogee, OK.

He worked for Sante Fe Meat Packing Company as a butcher and later worked for maintenance at Cook Construction Company, Fort Gibson, OK.

Willie loved working with his hands and listening to music in particular the Blues. He also enjoyed watching his Western movies.

On November 16, 2018, Willie was called home to be with the Lord, in his home surrounded by family.

Preceding him in death are his parents, his daughter, Helen Oliver, sisters, Mayella, Pricilla, Estelle, Louise and brothers, Howard and Charles.

Those left to cherish is memory are his wife, Jo Ann Carter of the home, his children, Clarence, Frankie (Tammey), Bobby (Diane), Willie (Trevarose), John, Cathy, Toni, Angie, Darlene, Billy, Nathan, and Josette, his grandchildren, his siblings, Mary Thomas and Roy (Junie Ruth) Carter, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that will miss him dearly.

A Home Going Service is scheduled, Saturday, November 24, 2018, 11:00 a.m., Christ Kingdom Builders Church, 1801 Baltimore Street, Muskogee, OK; Apostle Ron Venters, officiating.  Interment will follow in Booker T. Washington Cemetery, Muskogee, OK.

Visitation, Friday 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

The family has been cared for by House of Winn Funeral Home & Cremations.
