Her Story

On December 14, 1956 in Omaha, Nebraska, David Leo Biddle and Wanda Jean McGee Biddle welcomed the joyful addition of twin girls, Yvette and Yvonne into their family.  It's a well known belief that twins have a special bond, Yvette and Yvonne demonstrated that throughout their life.  The miles could not separate the love they shared for one another.  Yvette heard the Father's summons on March 22, 2021 to enter into eternal rest.  On June 29, 2022 death's angel stopped by St. Francis Hospital and gently carried Yvonne to be reunited with her twin sister and best friend.

Yvonne attended school in Tulsa, Oklahoma with her two brothers and three sisters.  She graduated with the Booker T. Washington Mighty Class of 1975.  She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age while attending Greater Union Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. D.C. Cooksey.  Yvonne was baptized at the age of seven.  She was an active member at Pettie Chapel C.M.E in Bixby, Oklahoma.

Yvonne gave birth to three children, two girls and one boy.  She spent her lifetime taking care of her children as well as others.  She worked faithfully in the marketing field as a marketing representative for Costco Wholesale Warehouse Store in Denver, Colorado for over twenty years.  Upon retirement she moved back to Tulsa to be closer to family.

On Wednesday, June 29, 2022 Yvonne transitioned from this life with her family by her side.  She was preceded in death by her parents, David Biddle and Wanda McGee Harris, one brother, Gregory Biddle, and one sister, Yvette Biddle Wade.

She leaves to cherish and continue her legacy of love: one son, Paul L. Walker Jr. (Shylo) Colorado; two daughters, DeJuana Hopson (Floyd) Henderson, Nevada, Sade Snow (Scott) Bixby, Oklahoma; Siblings Rodney Biddle of San Pablo, California, Sherry Franklin(Gailyn) Omaha, Nebraska, Sondra  Biddle of Claremore, Oklahoma, Marcus Biddle (Carla) Humboldt, California; Her pride and joy which consist of ten grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and neighborhood children and adults who had always made her house their home and called her "Mom" too.

A Home Going Service will be conduced on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Greater Union Baptist Church, 955 E 36th St N, Tulsa, OK, Rev. Thomas Henderson, pastor and Elder Robert Givens officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Okmulgee, OK. Public visitation will be held Friday, July 15th in the Precious Memories Chapel, House of Winn Funeral Home, 2200 Military Blvd during the hours of 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and at Greater Union Baptist Church, Tulsa the day of service, beginning at 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m.
