On January 14, 1946, a baby boy was born to Luisa James in Bristow, OK. Johnny Lee Wesley Jones was the second of three children born. After the death of Louisa, Johnny Lee was raised by his grandmother, Irene Green in Muskogee, OK.
Johnny Lee attended the historic Manual Training High School in Muskogee, OK. In 1964, he met the love of his life, Anna Mae Ball. To this union nine children were born.
Johnny Lee worked many jobs to support his family. He was last employed with Azalea Park Manor Nursing Home, as an orderly. Johnny Lee worked there for many years until his health began to fail.
Johnny Lee never met a stranger. He was a hardworking, loving and humble man that enjoyed a good conversation with anyone he came across. He also enjoyed cooking, spending time with family, Westerns and watching his Dallas Cowboys.
Johnny Lee transitioned to his Heavenly home, December 31, 2017.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, his loving wife, Anna, two children, Denovorist Ray and Shantel, and one grandchild, Kewaun Jones.
Those left to cherish his memory, his seven children, Ginerva (Dale) Kinnell, Sheila Jones, LaRissa Jones, Anthony Jones, Jonda (Allen Scott, Rhakeya (Raymond) Jones, Ricky (Octavia) Jones a special niece, Quinta James, all of the home, 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, his siblings, Lorene James and Larry (Carol) Jones of Iowa, his sister-in-law, June Simmons along with countless family members and friends.
A Service of Memory is scheduled, Saturday, January 20, 2018, 1:00 p.m., Evangelist Temple Baptist Church, 115 W. Southside Blvd., Muskogee, OK; with Pastor Richard D. Brooks, offering words of comfort.
The family has been cared for by House of Winn Funeral Homes.
